Congratulations to our Automotive Technology I instructor, Shannon Lasiter, for being named the September Teacher of the Month. Mr. Lasiter embraces the role he plays in helping students learn new skills, but most importantly, helping students get on the right path en route to living happy productive lives. One of his former students had this to say about the impact he had on his life, “The Auto Technology program gave me a solid foundation of skills and knowledge I still carry with me today. Mr. Lasiter’s ability to not only teach the technical side of the automotive industry, but also to instill life lessons about responsibility, problem-solving, and perseverance made a lasting difference in my life.”
Congratulations to our administrative assistant Candy Boyd for being named our September Employee of the Month. Mrs. Boyd always makes everyone who walks into the office feel like they are VIP. She always embraces the opportunity to help students and staff with a positive contagious attitude. She enjoys the comradery of the TRCC staff and how the building is like a second family to her. Mr. Moler, TRCC director, said it best, “Mrs. Candy Boyd is a lot more than just a welcoming smile that greets everyone as they enter our building, she is also a vital piece of our team that keeps TRCC running smoothly. Mrs. Boyd works tirelessly to assure all of our students are properly enrolled and teachers have all they need for their classes.”
Our SkillsUSA chapter is facilitating the 2nd annual Pooper Troopers of the Ozarks Diaper Drive. The diaper drive will begin on Saturday, September 27, 2025 and end on Sunday, October 12, 2025. All diapers will directly benefit Pregnancy Lifeline in Branson West and Options Pregnancy Clinic in Branson. The Pooper Troopers Diaper Drive offers multiple convenient drop-off locations making it easy for everyone to help us reach our goal of collecting 25,000 diapers. Table Rock Career Center is excited to announce that Bryan Miller will be leading TRCC’s Criminal Justice program as it makes its debut during the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Miller brings 32 years of law enforcement experience, 28 serving in a wide variety of roles with the Branson Police Department. He began his career as a patrol officer and worked his way up to the rank of lieutenant. During his time in Branson he developed a passion for education through the D.A.R.E. program and served at the end of his career as the department’s training/recruiting coordinator. As he prepares for the upcoming school year, he is placing great value in establishing partnerships with law enforcement agencies all over the area. Mr. Miller feels at home in the classroom and is excited about the role he will be playing in preparing area students for a wide variety of careers that are available to them in the criminal justice industry.
The Marine Technology program at Table Rock Career Center is one of just two programs serving the marine industry in Missouri. Students have an opportunity to earn the following certifications from this high-demand program: Yamaha University Introduction to Outboard Systems, Snap-On Precision Measurement, OSHA-10, Forklift and a Missouri Boaters License through the Missouri Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. Jenkins is looking forward to a great year with a great group of students who are excited to learn skills they will have for the rest of their lives. The students are currently gaining valuable hands-on experience on service calls on customer boats on area docks on Table Rock Lake.
Mr. Chris Jenkins has been the instructor in Table Rock Career Center’s Marine Technology Program since 2016. He is a graduate of Forsyth High School and excelled in the Small Engine/Marine Technology Program at Gibson Technical Center where he placed first in the State SkillsUSA competition based on the skills he learned in his program of study. Mr. Jenkins brings with him over 30 years of experience as a marine technician and business owner before he began pursuing a career in education.
