Third graders used counters to practice skip counting and build their understanding of number patterns, while our fourth graders dove into place value using place value charts and expanded form. Hands-on tools and strategies help build strong math skills! |
The Parents as Teachers team has been out and about, visiting with families. This child is making a predictable picture book. When children "read" a familiar book, they are memory reading, which is an important first step in becoming a reader! The first PAT group connections event is this Thursday. These are open to parents and their children ages five and younger. You do not have to be enrolled in PAT to attend. All are welcome! |
Ms. Copley's kindergarten class learned to build people/objects with shape blocks and worked on recognizing letters using the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom." |
Students in the Project Lead the Way Anatomy class learned anatomical terminology by labeling mannequins and cutting up dough bears. |
Students in Mr. Scego's Missouri History class created maps of our state out of Play-Doh! This helped reinforce Missouri's key geographical features. Each project looked different, but it gave students choice in what they created. This assignment also required partners to practice communication, one of our Portrait of a Graduate competencies.

Members of the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District visited RSHS biology students and TRCC EMT students about fire safety, fire extinguisher usage, and internship possibilities. Students even received hands-on training using the fire extinguisher simulator. |

RS Works is an internship and apprenticeship program. These seniors will gain real-world experience, build skills, and explore future careers! We're proud of them and thankful for the businesses willing to take them on.
