All six of our schools have received the "Heart Safe School" designation through Project ADAM. This means we have taken important steps to create a comprehensive cardiac emergency response plan, provide CPR/AED training, ensure access to AEDs, and practice emergency response procedures. |

Dr. Cody Hirschi is establishing a Superintendent's Advisory Committee to deepen parent engagement and gather valuable feedback from across our school community. |
Dr. Hirschi also visited Jefferson City last week, along with other local school administrators, to share concerns with state leaders about the proposed A-F Report Card for schools. |

Second graders have been busy learning how to be better writers and better learning partners! During literacy, students have been practicing writing sentences and working with a partner to give and receive feedback. Students are looking closely at their sentences, helping each other find mistakes, and making corrections together. |
Second graders in Mrs. Boyd’s class have been working hard to better understand how to help stray animals during the winter. Students are conducting research by reading articles, studying photos, and talking about the challenges stray animals face. |
Fourth graders used a visual balloon model, and a real helium balloon to help bring the idea of rounding to life. With a little imagination and some hands-on learning, our mathematicians were ready to let their numbers soar! |
Mrs. Rapp's class had its first Mystery Reader of the year! The kids were so excited to hear The Cat in the Hat, read by Lucas' mom, Andrea. |
Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class read Mouse Paint and had fun exploring color mixing through a science experiment. |
Ms. Jen's preschool class started its Frog Street curriculum and met Fanny the Frog. Students sang several active songs with scarves and created a self-portrait wall. |
Parents as Teachers had a group connections event last week at Wolf Pack Park. The next one is Wednesday, September 23 in the Primary School from 9:00-10:30! |
Students in the Auto Technology and EMT programs worked together on a project. Before the Auto Tech students completed an outdoor lab, the EMT students compared and contrasted their vital signs before and after to study the impact of the heat. |
During College Application Week, seniors worked on applications while getting help from staff, and they have submitted 98 applications so far! Seniors enjoyed a variety of college swag that was sent to us from all over the U.S. |
Chamber Choir students participated in Missouri State University’s Invitational Honor Choir! This event involves more than 200 students from 24 schools. Our singers learned new music, made new friends, and performed a fantastic concert at the end of the day. |
Project Graduation will host the Reeds Spring Craft Fair on Saturday, November 7. |

Students in the Medical Detectives class learned how to properly measure and interpret vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure. They performed several experiments testing elevated heart rates vs. resting heart rates.

Sixth graders are studying Ancient Mesopotamia. Through research and discussion, students are discovering how geography, natural resources, and the environment influenced where people settled and how one of the world’s earliest civilizations developed. |
In sixth-grade Science, students learned about the characteristics of living things. They used microscopes to observe cells, giving them a hands-on look at the tiny structures that make up living things.
